Overview
Homonyms are words that look or sound the same but have different meanings. Homônimos são palavras que têm a mesma forma ou som, mas significados diferentes.
Homophones
Homophones sound the same but have different spelling and meaning. Soam iguais, mas têm escrita e significado diferentes.
to / too / two
•I want to go home. Eu quero ir para casa.
•It’s too hot. Está quente demais.
•I have two brothers. Eu tenho dois irmãos.
Homographs
Homographs are spelled the same but have different meanings (and sometimes pronunciation). Têm a mesma escrita, mas significados (e às vezes pronúncia) diferentes.

True Homonyms
True homonyms have the same spelling and pronunciation but different meanings. Têm a mesma escrita e pronúncia, mas significados diferentes.
