•The teacher is in the classroom. O professor está na sala de aula.

Countable vs. Uncountable
Countable nouns can be counted and have singular and plural forms. Podem ser contados.
one apple / two apples
Uncountable nouns cannot be counted and usually do not have a plural form. Não podem ser contados.
water, money, information, rice
•I have two apples. Eu tenho duas maçãs.
•I need some information. Eu preciso de alguma informação.
Plural Nouns
To form the plural we usually add -s or -es. Para formar o plural, geralmente adicionamos -s ou -es.
book → books
box → boxes
Irregular plurals:
man → men / woman → women / child → children / person → people
•There are many people in the room. Há muitas pessoas na sala.
•The children are playing outside. As crianças estão brincando lá fora.
Possessive Nouns
Possessive nouns show ownership. Eles mostram posse.
John's book o livro do John
the students' room a sala dos alunos
•This is Maria's bag. Esta é a bolsa da Maria.
•The teachers' office is upstairs. A sala dos professores fica no andar de cima.
