When we describe a neighborhood, we often talk about places, location, and general atmosphere.
1. What is near the house?
2. Where is the supermarket?
3. How is the neighborhood during the week?
Presentation
Eric: Do you like your neighborhood?
Laura: Yes, I do. It's quiet and very convenient.
Eric: What places are near your house?
Laura: There is a bakery, a pharmacy, and a small park nearby.
Eric: Is there a supermarket too?
Laura: Yes. It's across from the pharmacy.
Eric: That sounds nice.
Language Focus
We describe neighborhoods with there is / there are, place words, and location expressions such as near, next to, and across from.
